it is difficult to have more than two friends at once. for me this is because it takes a lot of time and effort to maintain a good friendship, otherwise you aren't capable of treating your friends the way most people deserve to be treated.
a lot of the time i think of this in terms of video games, because you don't play Grand Theft Auto and Paper Mario at the same time.
(no, no. i can't switch from "yay yay mario yay!" to "yeah i wanna sleep with a prositute, then take my money back and kill her." at least for me.)
usually i play a game faithfully from beginning to end without stopping, the same way i seem to exhaust certain friends.
