(for amy: sometimes i forget that you're not near me and i talk to you anyway.)

there was another dog sighting today except this time it was an impatient owner and a troubled-in-its-old-age collie. i mean, it was tired like it didn't even want to be on a walk, sorta just standing there and rubbing its nose and looking at the ground.

it made me think about whether i want or maybe deserve a dog or not. lauren wants one but our mom doesn't want to have to deal with pets. i remember we had a cat once but it just ran away. i don't think i could take care of an animal the way a person really ought to. i'd be at school and stuff too much and the dog'd get bored and i'd become the impatient owner (which isn't really so bad but it's not so nice either).
