my wallet got stolen.

or i lost it.

but i prefer to think it was stolen by that bastard on the subway.

because if it was stolen, the thief would open up my wallet to find:

- seventy cents
- a library card with a $100 fine on it
- and a little note saying

"if you stole this, you are a bad person or a good person desperately in need of money. if you just found it, then please return it to Franklin at XXX-XXXX."
