02.18.04 - 4:21 p.m. - pallanza, village of

in the 8th century, there was a village that experienced such a horrible famine that all the crops and even all the weeds died. after the trees and dead grass was eaten, people started boiling books and eating those too.

except the village librarian stamped his foot, for he was very upset at this turn of events. and so, there was a proclamation that for every book you eat, that book must be memorized. and the eater must promise to pass on that information to someone else before they died.

this went on for many years ... and ... i'm done with this.
